AFO STORIES
And so began the
All For One charity.
When founder of All For One, Jeff Levitan, asked himself the question of what he should do with his life at the young age of 30, the answer came naturally: Help the most vulnerable population in the world, orphans in underdeveloped countries, have the opportunity to find success.

“The quality of your life will be determined by the quality of the questions you ask yourself.” -Tony Robbins
When founder of All For One, Jeff Levitan, asked himself the question of what he should do with his life at the young age of 30, the answer came naturally: Help the most vulnerable population in the world, orphans in underdeveloped countries, have the opportunity to find success.
And so began the All For One charity.
Since 2002, AFO has been helping underserved populations around the world and is continuously growing and expanding its outreach. By constructing healthcare centers, schools, and full Child Prosperity Centers, AFO is giving children a fighting chance to thrive, prosper, and be contributing members to their communities.
As the founder of All For One, Jeff has not only changed countless children’s lives around the world, but he has also set the example for other young philanthropists to start giving back now rather than waiting to just donate money at the end of their lives.

AFO STORIES
The Levitan Boys
All For One’s founder, Jeff Levitan, adopted three boys who were orphaned at very young ages in Uganda. He gave them his name and the love and support of a father. The Levitan boys were all given a chance at an education and a place to call home through the Kajoma Child Prosperity Center in Kampala, Uganda. Today, as young adults, they are making their way to the United States to meet the rest of their family. These are their stories.
Tayebwa Danson Levitan
Tayebwa Danson Levitan was born in Kalyamenvu Village, kyazanga Town, Lwengo District. His father died when his mother was pregnant with him, leaving her alone as an expecting mother. At one week old, he and his mother moved to live with his grandmother, where they stayed for two years until his mother was given the opportunity of employment as a maid for a small wage and living accommodations.
Danson continued to live with his grandmother and hoped to be reunited with his mother. Eventually, his mother remarried, but Danson was not accepted by her new husband. This meant that Danson would not be able to live with her, and so he stayed with his grandmother, who was caring for a total of 15 children from different parents, struggling to provide them with basic needs.
“We got to learn many tricks of getting food, where we went to the market to pick matooke and dropped food by the sellers. Our grandmother had nothing only to wake us up early in the morning to do our daily routine of food picking.”
Resorting to child labor, at the age of four, Danson would carry firewood to sell to his neighbors to add to the income that his grandmother earned selling mats. Instead of enjoying the life of a child and studying in school, Danson was forced to work to survive.
“I can’t forget this in my life, seeing the boys and girls I grew up with, coming back home with homework but me my homework was where and how I will get firewood and who to sell to.”
In 2004, at the age of seven, Danson’s grandmother cried tears of joy from the arrival of good news of a pastor who was a coordinator of T.J Miracle Foundation Kyengera. A connection came through their village chairperson, who had witnessed them selling firewood on the streets. Danson’s family was selected to be given a second chance.
His grandmother sent him with hopeful words to live at the Kajoma Child Prosperity Center, where he was welcomed and started nursery school at the age of seven. From there, he would continue to pursue an education. He joined Promise Christian Junior Academy - Nsagu in 2009 and attained a Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). Thereafter, he joined Rubaga Mixed Secondary School Nateete, where he attained a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) 2017. In 2018 – 2019, he joined Matugga Mixed Secondary School, where he attained a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
“My best moment in life is when I was told to wake up, dress up, and go to class.”
Along the way, Danson experienced happy moments and discovered his talents of dancing, composing songs, arts and crafts, and making comedy as well as motivational dialogues. He learned to use a computer and was given the opportunity by Mum Josephine to be their project receptionist and learned many new skills, including coping with stress and trauma.
Eventually, Jeff Levitan of All For One would come into his life, which Danson identifies as one of his “most precious moments.” Jeff would go on to adopt Danson and two of his brothers, Shadrack and Patrick, giving them his own name and providing them with the love of a father.
“I have learnt that sharing is not all about having more of what to share but, it comes from heart and sacrifice.”
Male Shadrack Levitan
Male Shadrack Levitan was born in Katereke Nsangi Wakiso District. His parents died when he was too young to recognize them, and he began living without any care and under the local council’s governance.
Eventually, he was introduced by the local chairman to an older man who wanted a young boy to help with simple domestic work. He took Shadrack in as his grandson and cared for him until an opportunity for free education for orphans became available in the neighboring village.
Two years behind other children who had already started school, Shadrack at the age of six officially joined the foundation that would change his life. Pastor Wasswa Joseph, who worked as a coordinator of Kajoma Child Prosperity Center with Josephine Kanzira the project manager, welcomed him warmly.
Shadrack would complete his nursery studies at the Foundation in Kyengera, formerly known as T.J Miracle Foundation School Wakiso District. He then completed Primary Leaving Examination PLE at Nsagu, Munkabira Primary School. He joined Rubaga Mixed High School Nateete, where he attained his O-level Certificate (UCE), after which he joined, K. Garden Groove Buddo Wakiso District, where he also attained a UACE Certificate (2018 – 2019).
Eventually, the center would receive a visit from All For One, who was there working to help provide local children with basic needs. Upon this visit, Shadrack would meet founder Jeff Levitan, whom he recognizes today as “Dad,” after Jeff adopted Shadrack and his two brothers, Danson and Patrick, with whom he has a strong bond.
Shadrack has witnessed things unimaginable to many, like the lack of clean water and access to medical services. He and his brothers support one another through memories of trauma and hardship. He experienced great loss when his adopted grandfather passed away and the loss of his beloved project dog Simba, who died in his hands after a long life of guarding KCPC. He expresses his appreciation to All For One as well as Jeff and Josephine for being role models in faith and hope.
“I have gotten a safe environment in which to grow, because many street children die of accidents, hunger, and terrible diseases, of which my stay at the foundation saved me a lot. Indeed, thank you All For One.”
As a young adult, he enjoys working for the project where we once lived. Remembering, as a child brought up by the orphanage, the pain of not having a close-knit family, he wants to make family a reality for other children. Shadrack is thankful to All For One and Mummy Josephine for the chances given to him to access education as a child and “for being given a second chance to have hope that I can be with parents once again. Indeed, thank you for this illumination of hope.”
Today, he wants to pursue his dream of becoming a journalist.
“If given opportunity, I will concentrate on achieving that dream. I have always dreamt to join a working class of lifting a flag of eradicating illiteracy in Africa in addition to mapping a legacy in Africa.”
Bisaso Patrick Levitan
Patrick Levitan Bisaso was born in Kitaka Busega, Rubaga Division, Kampala District and grew up with his parents until the age of five. His father died upon eating poisoned food while at work, leaving his mother alone to care for him without resources or support or options. His mother would eventually leave him without notice.
In 2004, a family friend came and picked Patrick up at the age of six and took him to T.J Miracle Foundation, which is now Kajoma Child Prosperity Center.
“Up to now, I can’t tell how and in which way he got a connection to bring me to Kajoma, only one thing I can say it was a divine connection.”
At KCPC, Patrick would find a new family. Though he still remembered the loss of his parents, he enjoyed good moments with his friends. He would also learn many new skills and be provided with the tools to help more children.
“I can’t imagine that I am a grown up being, who has grown up with a reasonable attitude of changing history, because I am influenced by a lot of things I see and acknowledge at the home.”
Putting behind him the mystery of his mother leaving and whether she is alive today, “I want to appreciate the love, care, education and shelter that All For One endlessly gives in support to see that we can have a bright future.”
Patrick completed his nursery studies at the Foundation in Kyengera previously known as T.J Miracle Foundation School Wakiso District and completed Primary Leaving Examination PLE at Nsagu, Primary School. At K. Mountain Vernon SS Wakiso district, he attained a UACE Certificate (2018 – 2019).
Today, determined to change his story and that of those around him, he is aiming to achieve his dreams of becoming a great social worker.
“I admire working with the project, because I see a gap. The project needs people like me, someone who has seen it all from the beginning. My sisters and brothers following me should be directed by our passion towards the end. My dream of becoming a social worker resulted from the pain I had during the time when my mother left me alone in the house.”
He also enjoys farming, and it is his dream of having one to grow food and rear animals to feed the orphans. He is thankful to All For One for giving him a second chance and to his dad, Jeff Levitan, for coming into his life, adopting him and his two brothers, Danson and Shadrack, and embracing them as his own children.
“I and my brothers, we feel so courageous, that once we get equipped, we are as well going to equip the rest of our young brothers as a mark of legacy.”
