AFO Impact - Belize

BELIZE

OUR IMPACT / BELIZE

The main at-risk group in Belize is children. They lack access to basic needs like healthcare and are vulnerable to illness and undernourishment. Our projects here focus on getting this vulnerable group the help it needs to one day thrive.

Belize Project

The Mesopotamia Human & Social Development Foundation in Belize City is dedicated to empowering children and young adults between the ages of 3 and 21 years old. The foundation supports a resource center that offers after-school programs such as computer literacy training for high school children, youth leadership workshops, creative arts, sports, and entrepreneurship coaching.

The foundation also has a food bank that offers snacks to children in the program and a school feeding program giving assistance to families in need. Partnering with EOB Barrow Education fund, All For One Foundation contributed funding to the Mesopotamia Human & Social Development Foundation to expand the advancement of community improvement.

Belize Impact

The partnership will continue the educational outreach in providing basic educational supplies such as book bags, pens, pencils, and notebooks. The goal is to provide developing children with supplies to enhance their learning potential.

This initiative is dear to our president, Newton's, heart. Newton is from Belize and knows Belize’s educational environment for children. The foundation provides food and snacks for children in after-school programs. The foundation also provides meals to about 1,000 families every year during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Along with the meals, children within the community receive book bags and school supplies for going back to school.

Statistics
  • In 2016, 49% of the children in Belize lived in poverty.
  • In 2015, 16% of children under the age of 5 suffered from stunting caused by malnutrition.
  • In 2015, approximately 5% of children under the age of 5 were underweight.
  • In 2015, primary school completion rate was below 87%.

BECOME AN ALL FOR ONE VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the backbone of All For One and are instrumental to our success.

Want to get hands-on and become an All For One volunteer?

As the foundation grows and expands to reaching more children impacted by poverty, malnutrition, and lack of education, we believe there is an urgent need to build this network, which is the centerpiece of our organization.

If leaving a legacy of service is your passion, then you are the piece of the puzzle we need to continue our great work for children around the world.

Volunteer vetting process

All For One continues to be passionate about building a strong community of volunteers that complements the countless efforts of our organization. Active volunteers’ enthusiasm encourages all of us. We believe that each of our stories is critical to the legacy and impact that we have in the world. Each actively involved volunteer will share a short story of themselves and their purpose for joining the mission.

Volunteers select an area of interest and write a short story of themselves, including what motivates and inspires them, what activities fill their day, their values, and how they can add to All For One’s culture.

The Ideal Volunteer

Loving what you do is the epitome of fulfillment. An ideal volunteer embodies a love of selfless giving of themselves, their talents, and their time. Volunteering is a generous and noble feat where one offers time, self, skills, and talents freely. Giving selflessly is a powerful attribute to give back to the community. The volunteer questionnaire assists in identifying and developing characteristics ideal for being a volunteer for All For One.
