Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Central America, with roughly 48% of its 6.1 million population living below the poverty line.* Poor living conditions have caused an adverse impact on maternal mortality, with infant mortality and chronic infant malnutrition seriously impacting the rural areas of the country.*
In 2005, All For One Foundation partnered with CARE to rebuild and refurbish a clinic in the small, rural farming town of La Dalia.
Currently, seeing the need to continue to support the education of children in Nicaragua, AFO is providing financial support to a prosperity program run by the Boy with a Ball organization. Seeing alignment in each organization's missions, this partnership will support staffing and classroom materials for a tutoring center as well as scholarships for university students.
The clinic served areas in Central Nicaragua and provided access to a health facility that includes an emergency room, a labor and delivery room, a laboratory, and an infant care room. The partnership with CARE focused on poor communities to improve living standards through access to safe water, education, primary healthcare, sanitation, and preventative health.
